old dance hats from a dance troupe from Central Java have seen many performances
of the traditional epic dances of the Ramayana and Mahabaharata. The elaborately
decorated hat of painted and gilded buffalo hide, velvet, fabric, metal and sequins
is specific for each character in the performance. Each hat comes with
a metal stand for display. |
