The
women from the Kuna Indians of the San Blas Islands, Panama wear brightly colored
blouses with cotton panels of reverse applique. The intricate and beautiful designs
of fish, plants and animals reflect the island environment of the Kunas. Ads,
political posters, cartoons, and religious paintings have all graced the mola
blouses.
