| Throughout much of Asia puppets in various forms are an essential part of the culture. Wayang kulit, the leather shadow puppet, Wayang golek, the three dimensional wood and cloth rod puppet, and wayang kletik, the two dimensional wood and leather puppet are all used in traditional puppet performances. The familiar stories of the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and local village legends are all told through the puppet performances. |
