Java is a cotton sarong aged to perfection. Over time
the batik sarong fabric has become extremely soft and
the dyes are muted. The wax resist was applied with a
copper stamp called a cap (see our metal section!). Most
of these cotton indonesian batik sarongs are from the
Yogyakarta or Solo region of central Java. The Indonesia
batik sarong patterns have a long tradition of usage and
meaning and are considered one of the royal arts supported
