Our sarong of Indonesian batik style, a tulis batik sarong, is hand drawn using hot wax with a tool called a tjanting. The waxed cloth is dyed, dried and waxed again to add more design and color to the textile. This Indonesian batik process is repeated with each layer of dye.  At the end the wax is removed by boiling the textile and washing the excess wax out of the batik sarong. An Indonesian batik sarong made in the tulis batik style is truly a beautiful item of wearable art. An Indonesian batik sarong is a sarong of unique character!
